We are a group of people who enjoy meeting to discover more about railways. We have a varied programme of meetings on the first and third Thursday of each month from late September through to May. We also put on a Show for members and the public every year. Read more...

NRS Meetings 2025/26
Meeting dates are listed below and will be updated as arrangements are finalised. Details will be emailed to members a few days in advance. Meetings are held at URC Hall, Ipswich Road, Norwich and start at 19.30 unless otherwise stated.

2025

18th September - Members’ Evening - Short presentations by members of activities during 2025

2nd October - Liz Gibson of the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust returns to talk about Tornado 

16th October - Two presentations from NRS members. In the first half Ian Dinmore will present How the Victorians funded the railways. In part 2 Andrew Wright presents Boxes, Piers and Viaducts

6th November - We welcome Mike Millward from the Class 37 Loco Group to talk about their work.

20th November - NRS Annual General Meeting followed by Chris Eve’s Video Round-up of 2024.

4th December - David Scudamore presents Cambridge Area Railways Yesterday & To-day Part 1

18th December - Our informal pre-Christmas meeting with seasonal refreshments and short presentations from members.

Norfolk Transport Group 2024/25
Meetings at URC Hall, Ipswich Road, Norwich starting at 19.30. Organised by a group of NRS members these meetings cover a range of transport topics, not just railways. Members and non-members welcome. Pay £3 on the night.
