NRS Meetings 2026 Meeting dates are listed below and will be updated as arrangements are finalised. Details will be emailed to members a few days in advance. Meetings are held at URC Hall, Ipswich Road, Norwich and start at 19.30 unless otherwise stated. Thursday 19 March – Steven Ashling - Great Yarmouth Railways. With many years of experience on the railway and in the heritage sector Steven always delivers fascinating talks and we're grateful to him for stepping in at short notice. Paul Stanford's talk, Railways in the 1980s, has been rescheduled for Thursday 5 October. Thursday 2 April – Tom Ingall - The Great Central Railway Reunification Project - Bridging the Gap. Thursday 16 April at 14.30 – Phil Marsh - A Railway Career from Bette Davis to George Clooney via Hogwarts. Please note this is an afternoon meeting. NOTE: No meeting on Thursday 7 May – local elections. Thursday 14 May - David Leathart - Gricing from Black and White to Colour (1960s - 1990s). Thursday 21 May - Peter Metcalf - The Waveney Valley Line - Tivetshall to Beccles. Organised by a group of NRS members these meetings cover a range of transport topics, not just railways. Members and non-members welcome. Pay £3 on the night.
