We are a group of people who enjoy meeting to discover more about railways. We have a varied programme of meetings on the first and third Thursday of each month from late September through to May. We also put on a Show for members and the public every year. Read more...

NRS Meetings 2026
Meeting dates are listed below and will be updated as arrangements are finalised. Details will be emailed to members a few days in advance. Meetings are held at URC Hall, Ipswich Road, Norwich and start at 19.30 unless otherwise stated.

Thursday 8 January – Zoom Meeting - Once again we welcome Robert Pritchard, Editor of Today’s Railways UK with his review of 2025.

Thursday 15 January – Jonathan Denby, Head of Corporate Services, Greater Anglia.

Thursday 5 February – Robert Pritchard Editor of Today’s Railways UK joins us at URC Hall with a presentation covering railways in the late 2000’s and early 2010’s.

Thursday 19 February – Tim Ward From Banker to Train Driver.

Thursday 5 March – Opportunity for members to discuss how we make best use of the legacy received from Edward Mann’s estate.

Thursday 2 April – Speaker to be confirmed.

Thursday 16 April at 14.30 – Phil Marsh - A Railway Career from Bette Davis to George Clooney via Hogwarts. Please note this is an afternoon meeting.

Norfolk Transport Group 2026
Meetings at URC Hall, Ipswich Road, Norwich starting at 19.30. Organised by a group of NRS members these meetings cover a range of transport topics, not just railways. Members and non-members welcome. Pay £3 on the night.
