What is the Norfolk Railway Society?
It's a group of people who like railways, and who enjoy meeting to discover more about them.
We have a varied programme. At some meetings there is a speaker with slides or film; other meetings are informal, with short contributions from members. We also put on an Annual Show for the public in January or February.
When do you meet?
On the first and third Thursdays of each month from late September until May. Meetings begin at 7.30 pm and finish at about 10 pm. You're very welcome to come.

Are you only concerned with railways in Norfolk?
No: we're world-wide in our interests – but many members have a special interest in East Anglia's railways past and present.
Must I enthuse about 4-6-2s and Bo-Bos to be a member?
No: we're a surprisingly varied group of people. Some are steam enthusiasts, some prefer modern traction. Others simply enjoy rail travel and photography, UK or world-wide. We welcome young and old, men and women, experts and amateurs. We're all pro-rail, but we're not a political organisation.
Are there any outside visits?
There certainly are. Recent years have seen visits to the Didcot Railway Centre and the Kent & East Sussex, Great Central, Bluebell, Fawley Hill and Leighton Buzzard railways. Closer to home, we also arrange at least one visit each summer to an East Anglian railway site. This summer we visited the Wells and Walsingham railway
How do I find out more?
