You can almost smell the coal and ash! Standing by the mechanical coaling
plant at Norwich loco on 3rd May 1958 were J17 and J15 0-6-0s, a B1 4-6-0
and, nearest the camera, B12 4-6-0 no. 61571.
The coaling plant was erected by the LNER in the 1930s and held 250 tons
of coal. Redundant once steam had been banished from Norwich, it was demolished
in February 1963
